Welcome to Sew Much Love Pet Portrait Quilts, I am a quilt artist and I have combined my love of animals with my love of art and fabric to create artistic pet portrait quilts. My work is characterized by the use of vibrant colors and fabrics; I favor batiks as they lend themselves well to my interpretations of the animals I portrays in my unique quilted pieces of art.
Always an animal lover, I now enjoy creating art for other animal lovers and donate a portion of my proceeds to various animal rescue groups. I am devoted to my own animal companions and through the years have shared my heart and home with many of them, of varying breeds and species.
Initially inspired by the unique and captivating patterns of the greatly talented quilt artist Sharon Malec, I now also create custom portraits of animals that have my own unique touch, as well as continuing to use some patterns by Sharon Malec. Each unique piece of art is created using both hand and machine techniques, of 100% cotton fabric, including backing, binding, and batting. This work is not silk screened, not painted on fabric, not a photo transfer to fabric, but hand cut and appliquéd pieces of fabric combined to create an artistic patchwork portrait. Approximate size for a finished quilt is 18" x 24", but may be larger to accommodate specific portrait subjects. Each pet portrait quilt is made with a sleeve on the back for hanging.
Please view the gallery for samples of the artwork that embraces my own love of animals.

A past winner of Whatcom Humane Society's Woof and Whiskers Award for my work in animal rescue, I continue to feel compelled to help animals. Throughout the year, various shelters and rescue organizations will be featured here on Sew Much Love Pet Portrait Quilts.
A portion of the proceeds of all sales throughout the year will go to help those organizations. Come back often to see the most recent opportunity to donate and for updates on past months' needs. See what a difference we can make by sharing Sew Much Love with animals in need. If you would like to see a specific organization represented here, please contact me with your information.
A portion of the proceeds from portrait quilts sold this month will go to the Whatcom Humane Society in Bellingham, WA. Whatcom Humane is a wonderful organization right here in my own area, and I've adopted three wonderful cats from them.
